Clock French Empire Ormolu Mantel

Circa 1810

A Good French Empire ormolu Mantel Clock, the white enamel dial signed Bassot, Rue St Honore No.252, a Paris; silk suspension movement set in a globe flanked by Aurora holding a torch and lifting the Veil of Night, supported on a pedestal cast with blowing winds, with standing cockerel, the base with well cast plaque of winged figures and floral swags, circa 1805-1810 * The case attributed to Jean-Nicolas Picnot.
